Umran Malik impresses, Sarfaraz Khan warms up for the Duleep trophy

The Buchi Babu trophy is the precursor of the Duleep trophy, which begins on August 28.
The third and the final league stage round of the Buchi Babu commenced in Chennai on Tuesday, and the Indian stars came up with flattering performances, for their respective teams. The first day was dominated by Mumbai’s Sarfaraz Khan, and Maharashtra’s Ruturaj Gaikwad, while upcoming star Arshin Kulkarni made his presence felt, too. Gaikwad & Kulkarni Put Maharashtra on Top
Maharashtra has had a poor tournament so far. The team had endured a defeat, and then conceded a 156-lead in the second. So, their semis chances might be gone, but Ruturaj Gaikwad (133) and Arshin Kulkarni (146), ensured that the team reaches 440 in the first innings. But then, for Himachal Pradesh, Prince Thakur came up with a spirited effort to get 7/144.
Good News for J&K
Speedster Umran Malik is on the comeback road, after a long break. The India pacer bagged 2/35 in his very first spell, and look fiery throughout, playing against Odisha. They did score 314 runs, but there were other notable performances by Abid Mushtaq and Vanshaj Sharma, who picked four wickets each.
Sarfaraz Khan Warms Up Before Duleep Trophy
The Mumbai batter seems to be getting ready for the upcoming Duleep Trophy, with yet another ton. This time it came against Haryana, as the batter scored 111 from 112 deliveries, as Mumbai ended innings on 346. Valuable contributions came lower down the order from Shams Mulani (50) and skipper Tanush Kotian (48).
