ULTIMATE ENDGAME #1 brings back [SPOILER] In a surprise new role as the creator returns in a horrifying twist

Reed Richards from the original Ultimate Universe is now the villainous Maker. Two years ago, he used time travel to create his ideal Earth by systematically preventing anyone from becoming a superhero and creating a secret group of super-villains, the Council of Creators, who rule the world from the shadows.

To help give this world a chance to fight back, inventor and Council member Howard Stark sacrificed himself to seal the Creator inside “The City”, a place designed by the Creator where time and space operate completely separately from the outside world.

Howard’s teenage son, Tony, then took the code name Iron Lad (in very Kang-inspired armor) and began recruiting a network of heroes to serve on the Creator’s Council and prepare for the Creator’s return. Last month, he broadcast the truth about the Creator and His Council to the world, causing a wave of global unrest.

However, the seal of the Dome surrounding the city was only valid for two years, and in Ultimate Endgame #1these two years have now passed. Inside the city, 2000 years have passed, meaning the Ultimates have no idea what awaits them when the Creator returns.

As war breaks out in Latveria, Iron Lad, Spider-Man, America Chavez and Reed Richards/Doom enter the city and discover that it is far from a utopia. Fighting the Deathloks and Death’s Heads, they discover that Howard is still alive but now known as Immortus, Lord of Time.

Howard managed to survive the last two thousand years, but has no memory of Tony (which isn’t too surprising considering how much time has passed for him). Doom makes it clear that they need to find The Maker, prompting Immortus to reveal that it’s not about finding the villain, but escaping him. The Creator East The City!

That’s where the problem ends. Where we go from here remains to be seen, but it’s a huge twist that sets the stage for this version of the Ultimate Universe to end in epic fashion (and with it, we’re betting The Maker’s story comes to an end as well).

The Creator has appeared in various events on Earth-616, including Secret Wars And King in black. Creating a new world didn’t really work for him, and with Marvel Comics ending this Ultimate line, a definitive conclusion to this story is much needed.
