The Ukrainian attacks on the Belgorod border region of Russia killed two civilians while the Russian bombings in eastern Ukraine left a dead man, officials announced on Sunday.

Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Belgorod, wrote on the Telegram messaging application that a woman was killed when the bombing hit a private house in the border town of Shebekino, while a man died in a drone strike on the village of Rakitnoe.

The Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, has faced frequent cross -border attacks since Moscow launched its large -scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

In Ukraine, a man was killed and residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged by Russian bombings in Kostiiantynivka in the Donetsk region, Serhii Hornbunov, chief of the city’s military administration said on Sunday.

The last series of attacks occurred after Russia launched a large -scale missile on Saturday and drone attacks across Ukraine, killing at least three people and injuring dozens. Russia launched 619 drones and missiles in the attack, the Air Force of Ukraine said.

Also on Saturday, Estonia summoned a Russian diplomat to protest after three Russian fighter planes entered its airspace without authorization on Friday and stayed there for 12 minutes, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Writing on the social media site X on Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had been targeted by “more than 1,500 strike drones, more than 1,280 guided air bombs and 50 missiles of various types” during the previous week.

Note that “thousands of foreign components” were found in Russian weapons, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine “counted on the 19th pack of EU sanctions to be really painful and the United States to join Europeans”. The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, presented the package of sanctions on Friday.

Zelenskyy plans to meet US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly this week, where he said that he hoped out of the proximity of Ukraine and his partners to finalize long -term security guarantees.

Trump on Sunday morning in an exchange with journalists very briefly discussed the Russian foray into Estonian airspace.

“We don’t like this,” said Trump. When asked if the United States supported Poland and other Baltic States if they continued to face the Russian aggression, Trump replied: “I will do it.”

The Ministry of Defense of Russia denied its violated air space on Estonia on Saturday.
