UFC: “Buddy almost lost his life”

Alex Pereira’s composure was briefly tested at the dinner table, all thanks to a prank orchestrated by Nina-Marie Daniele. The UFC light heavyweight champion found himself the subject of a harmless prank when a waiter attempted to remove his plate at Daniele’s request.
The short clip showed Pereira enjoying his meal before the waiter took his food. Pereira immediately looked up, confused, and fixed a sharp gaze that made the waiter hesitate. When the waiter pointed to Daniele, revealing his role in the setup, Pereira’s tense expression turned into a smile.

Fresh off his knockout victory over Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320, Pereira focused on healing from his injuries and taking time off from training. The Brazilian has discussed the idea of moving up to heavyweight and potentially fighting Jon Jones on the UFC White House card.
Alex Pereira ignores doctor’s advice and is convinced his foot injury is healing well
Alex Pereira doesn’t let medical precautions slow him down. Weeks after reclaiming the light heavyweight belt at UFC 320 with an 80-second knockout victory over Magomed Ankalaev, the Brazilian revealed he ditched the walking boot meant to protect his fractured foot.
UFC doctors advised him to keep it on for six more weeks, but Pereira believes prolonged use could weaken his mobility.
In a recent interview with MMA Hoje, Pereira said:
“The UFC doctors told me to wear the boot for another six weeks. No [I’m not wearing it now]. [The doctors] Told me to wear it for another six weeks. But also, I don’t know. I had other opinions. On the one hand, it’s good, but on the other hand, it could atrophy my foot a little more, make it more difficult to move around, etc. The pain is ok now. After the impact of a few days, a week, I was fine with the boot. I didn’t take it off for nothing. Just to shower. I think it worked well and now it’s okay. Walking is good.” [H/t: Sherdog]
