Two sons who blame Cuomo for the death of the old mayor for the mayor of New York

Two mourning sons which then blame Gov. The controversial nursing edict of Andrew Cuomo for the death of their father and the dozens of others of COVID-19 approved the Rival Brad Lander for the mayor.
Peter’s father and Daniel Arbeeny, Norman, 89, died of Covid after a rehabilitation in a Cobble Hill nursing home, Brooklyn.
Under Cuomo’s policy, which was instituted in March 2020, patients infected with the coronavirus but stabilized were admitted or re -added to nursing homes at a time when the installations have not been able to test the fatal bug or provide adequate personal protective equipment to contain the infection, criticisms said.
Norman was not coche before entering the nursing home. He tested positive for the virus some time after leaving him, although he was not clear where he contracted it.
Cuomo, who resigned from his post as governor in 2021, in the midst of a series of accusations of sexual misconduct he denies, is now the front of the Democratic primary for the mayor of New York.
The approval by Arbeeny Brothers of Lander took place outside the Cobble Hill nursing home, where their father had been treated.
“It is my honor to approve Brad, because he responded to the call of our families with the help of COVID at the height of April 2020 when the city closed,” said Peter on Monday about the controller of the current city and candidate for the town hall.
“Five years ago, when no elected official met us or defended us, Brad Lander was the only civil servant who was fighting alongside us to exhibit the lies of Andrew Cuomo, and seek responsibility for our father and so many other New Yorkers in mourning,” said the son.
“Brad has empathy, is a decent, honest and difficult person and is exactly what we need with a mayor.”
Lander invited Peter as a guest during last week’s mayor’s debate. He urged the son to get up and recognized and demanded that Cuomo apologize to him and other families of nursing homes for disastrous politics, which was revoked six weeks later, after thousands of vulnerable New Yorkers have already been admitted or read in nursing homes.
Cuomo did not apologize for his nursing home directive during the television force.
Instead, he said, “Mr. Arbeeny lost a father.
“I’m very, very sorry for that.”
But Cuomo insisted that Lander and Arbeeny were wrong on the facts.
Cuomo noted that Arbeeny had continued the state and said that legal documents in the case found that no person at the height was sent from a hospital to the nursing home where his father had been admitted.
“It is therefore factually impossible, Brad, whether it be coche, ok, someone from a hospital,” said Cuomo.
Daniel Arbeeny led a federal legal action against Cuomo, who was rejected by a Federal Judge in Brooklyn.
During the press conference on Monday, Peter said he was upset by the debate because he thinks that the former governor had not shown remorse for his nursing home policy.
“The chuckle at the beginning was insulting,” said the son. “He doesn’t want to look at me when I got up and looked at him directly. It is not willing to apologize as a head of this state.”
Cuomo’s campaign spokesperson Richard Azzopardi said in a statement on Monday: “Throughout this campaign, Lander showed the world that it was shady to say and do anything to advance his intermediate cynical campaign and this is only the last chapter.
“THE [state Health Department] The guidelines reflected the federal councils and 12 other states and the nursing home that Norman Arbeeeney was did not have a capricious admission before 22 days after his release – which makes the story of his sons impossible. But Lander the Pander never lets them bother. »»
But Lander said: “I have so much admiration to Peter and Daniel Arbeeny, who courageously asked for the responsibility of the ex-Disgrace-Grace Andrew Cuomo for five years and who is still fighting to honor the heritage of their father, Norman. I am deeply affected to receive their approval today. ”
Anyway, the COVID-19 controversy continues to haunt Cuomo.
Last week, Cuomo said that he had not only seen a controversial report on the coastal deaths of the nursing house in the state when he was governor, but may have changed the document before his release – a bomb confession which contradicts his testimony under juror of the Congress.
“I do not remember having seen the report at the time. I saw the report, it turns out,” Cuomo told Pix11 News. “I am sure that if I read the report, I have made linguistic changes.”
THE My guilt The Ministry of Justice came after the Ministry of Justice has opened a criminal investigation that Cuomo lied to Capitol Hill when he categorically denied having written, examined, discussed or consulted on the report of the nursing home.
The emails obtained by a subcommittee of the congress show that CUMO AIDES discussed its role in the writing of the report and includes the manuscript modifications of the former governor.
The report has minimized the consequences of the Cuomo March 2520 directive which forced the recovery of patients wearing in care establishments for the elderly without compulsory test to see if they could still infect others.
The state also initially underestimated the death of residents of nursing homes of almost 50%.
Cuomo has long maintained that his administration followed federal directives when the State Health Department has implemented the COVVI-19 nursing home directive and that all the battered deaths have been reported.
During his grills by the house subcommittee on the coronavirus pandemic in June 2024, he denied the accusations to misunderstand the cocoded response and underlined the federal advice as having hampered the response of his administration.
