Two men arrested in Utah after a bomb found under the vehicle of news | Utah

Utah authorities say two men have been arrested for suspicion of having placed an incendiary device under a media vehicle in Salt Lake City. The bomb did not trigger.

The police and firefighters’ teams responded on Friday when a suspicious device was found under the vehicle parked near a busy building.

The investigators determined that the bomb “had been informed but had not worked as designed”, according to the judicial archives quoted by the affiliate of CBS Kutv.

The FBI identified two suspects and served a search warrant in a house in Magna, west of the city center. Two men, aged 58 and 31, were arrested and could face accusations related to the possession of weapons and threats of terrorism, the affiliate of ABC KTVX reported on Sunday.

The neighboring houses were evacuated during the research, which revealed explosives and “components linked to explosives”, firearms, illegal narcotics and other paraphernalia, according to the judicial archives. Authorities say they also found at least two aircraft that turned out to be weapons of mass destruction.

There was no information on a possible reason and the relationship between the two suspects was not immediately known.

The media went down to Salt Lake City after last week’s murder of the co-founder of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk.
