Usually I write my columns for all your television fans. But this week, I bring together a letter specifically for a special high -level television group: people who vote on nominations for the Emmy Awards.
Hey to all – I know that you have drowned in round and endless table interviews for your shows of shows trying to win your support. The vote of nominations ends today at 10 p.m. PDT, so I thought I would offer some suggestions for underestimated artists and shows that I really hope to have a chance to Emmy Gold this time.
Given the fragmented state of the vision of television these days, I know that it is more difficult than ever to agree on what is the best programming. But it is also an opportunity for all of you to the television academy to reach the usual suspects of new voices, new programs and performance that could otherwise be overlooked.
And for voters not at Emmaine, consider this as a list of nice shows and performance to catch up. The appointments are announced on July 15. (And if the voters of the Emmy are wrong, I will correct everything with my degree prices, announced just before the Emmy ceremony on September 14).)

Yes, Aduba is appreciated by the voters of the Emmy, who appointed him five times with three victories, two of them for his role as signing of Crazy Eyes Orange is the new black. But I worry, with the eyes of the industry concentrated this year on higher profile comedies like The studio, hacks And Die for sexthat the original Netflix point of view on a whodunit inside the White House will be missed. Aduba’s performance as a avid and detective consulting Consulting Cordelia Cupp, the investigator who uprooted everything, is at the heart of this glorious mixture, commanding each scene as a detective with sharp eyes who is clearly the smartest person of the room – and is not shy to let you know.

The artists of so-called “gender shows” such as science fiction programs and series based on superheroes rarely do many general interest prices like Emmys, who often look for more high speed dishes. But Onofrio’s point of view on the boss of the crime who has become the mayor of New York, Wilson, the mayor of New York, Fisk, was frightening, captivating and quite close to real events, it was a bit triggered. He dominated the series so much, I told my colleague Glen Weldon that we should find a new adjective for when an actor has a role: of Onofrian.

Released just before the deadline for this year’s EMMYS, this Scottish criminal drama also deserves its own appointment for a winding story centered on a damaged detective investigating on a horrible unresolved crime. Like the East series, it is the turn of Goode as an arrogant detective Carl Morck, an English transplanted in Edinburgh – unable to admit how it was traumatized by a shooting which paralyzed its former partner – which maintains everything together. Goode has been excellent in many things, to play the legendary film producer Robert Evans The offer To the villain of Zack Snyder Guards movie. His role as Morck is not exactly the kind of thing that Emmy voters align to recognize – but they should.

This is a category historically dominated by Newsy satires like The Daily Show And Last week this evening With John Oliver (Before Oliver was projected to a new category, he now dominates). But this Americanized version of a long -standing British television base is quietly emerged as one of the most fun ways to treat our chaotic time, directed by Daily show Alum Roy Wood Jr. as host alongside the Amber Ruffin team captains and Michael Ian Black. Whether it’s making fun of Steve Bannon’s musical comedy on the riots of Los Angeles in 1992 – with clips of a table reading with Rob Corddry, of course – or Ruffin explaining that she lost her concert performing at the dinner of the correspondents of the White House in “Talking S ***” of the Republicans before the events of difficult information, the false show of games, but enriching the Republicans.

I know – I push it here with a second choice in this category. But even if I think the only new appointment in this category will probably go to Netflix uneven Everyone lives with John Mulaney Series, I think it is a crime that the most innovative unconventional interview program in recent years has not yet been appointed. Yes, this is a silly configuration – celebrities answering questions while eating hot wings. But the host Sean Evans makes him count with brilliant touches, including net and insightful questions and the decision to eat wings right alongside the guest – a level of entertainment worthy of a little gold Emmy, I say.

It seems a little strange to say that a series featuring megastars like Samuel L. Jackson, Taraji P. Henson, Don Cheadle, Terrence Howard and Kevin Hart would be an outsider in anything. But it seems that the industry slept on this excellent production of Blaxploitation, based on a real event in which some of the most formidable gangster groups in America were stolen when they attended a party after a Muhammad Ali in 1970. History touches everything, from the Hart of the Residence, it cannot play a role on the role of the city, with the Hart a especially serious role and Jackson and Jackson and Jackson and Jackson The country, with the Hart, with a role on most of the serious role and Jackson and Jackson Tiwing in the city, with only the Hart, a role on the majority role and Jackson and Jackson very city, with only the Hart, a role on most of the role and Jackson and Jackson very city, with only the Hart, a role in most of the role and Jackson and Jackson very From the city, with only the Hart, a role on the majority role and Jackson and Jackson Tiwing the Percery, with only the Hart Anth Auto “Black Godfather” Frank Moten.

Given the intensification conflicts in the Middle East and current chaos on American immigration policies, it is difficult to imagine a more relevant spectacle than MoStarting the comic strip Mohammed Amer as a Palestinian refugee living in Texas by trying to obtain asylum. While the second season of the show opens, it is in fact trapped in Mexico – where it was transported against his will by, yes, the smugglers – and tries to sail in a crazy immigration system to prove that he should be released in America to carry out a long -awaited asylum hearing of his family. All of this can look more like a dramatic film of the Oscars, but in the hands of Amer, it is actually funny – with stories which are also moving and heartbreaking at the same time. He manages something incredible: humanize a process that has been distorted by politicians and ideologues to obscure very real people at the heart of the process.
