Tulsa King Actor Discusses His Character’s Shocking Final Scene

King of Tulsa actor Neal McDonough reveals his character Cal Thresher will shock viewers during his final scene in the upcoming finale (November 23, 2025). According to the actor, he had to convince the director of the series to keep the sequence in the episode because it seemed to him that it was too much.

McDonough said Us every weekWait for the final speech. “He explained that Cal was so.”emotional” in the last episode of King of Tulsa season 3 that it would leave audiences in complete disbelief.

Although he didn’t say anything specific about the timing, he told the publication that the director wasn’t sure if the speech should be cut or not. However, the actor fought to keep the scene. He said Cal is supposed to be unpredictable and he didn’t want to end the season with viewers believing he was a one-note character.

The director says, “I don’t think you can do that, you’re Cal Thresher.” I say to myself, “Well, isn’t that why I should do it?” He is completely misunderstood. I don’t want anyone to think Cal Thresher is one path when it could be a completely different path.

It was evident during the interview that McDonough was incredibly happy with what he had managed to achieve for his character. “It just makes me smile,” he said.

McDonough joined the cast of King of Tulsa in season 2 as Dwight “The General” Manfredi’s (Sylvester Stallone) rival in the marijuana business after Dwight moves from New York to Oklahoma. At the end of the second part of the series, Stallone’s character spares Cal and resumes his exploitation. However, relations between the two remain strained.

King of Tulsa follows the story of Dwight, a New York mafia capo, who goes into exile in Tulsa. The series sees him building a new empire from scratch while facing the dangers of the criminal underworld.

The crime drama stars many actors alongside Stallone and McDonough.
