Who is Marc Brys? The man went to coach Cristiano Ronaldo in Al Nassr next season

Cristiano Ronaldo should have a new club boss in the coming days with Marc Brys emerging as the probable successor by Stefano Pioli in Al Nassr.

Pioli is about to take over at La Fiorentina and would have concluded a verbal agreement with the viola.

This will create a vacancy in Al Nassr which could be filled by Brys, according to reports from its native Belgium.

The 63-year-old has an earlier coaching experience in Saudi Arabia in a well-traveled career which has also seen him supervised the teams in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Success after having disrupted the start of life in Cameroon

He is currently coach of Cameroon after having extinguished a storm who saw him trapped in the middle of a row between the president of Cameroon FA (Fecafoot), Samuel Eto’o, and the Ministry of the Country of Sport (Minsep).

Eto’o wanted a high -level boss to replace Rigobert Song in 2023 while MINSEP, who posed the salary of the national team coach, appointed the BRYS Unknown.

In a period of great instability, Brys was dismissed and then reinstated within 48 hours.

Since then, he has gained respect for everyone by directing Cameroon in 12 games, winning seven and firing five.

It is believed that the way he headed during the disagreement between Fecafoot and Minsep impressed the heads of Al Nassr with the passive approach of Brys a good adjustment to work in an authoritarian state.

Ronaldo signed up in Al Nassr

If Brys obtains the position, he will have Ronaldo at his disposal during the next season of the Pro League.

After being linked to the Al Hilal Saudi rivals, as well as a short -term move in one of the teams in the Club World Cup competition, Ronaldo said that he would remain with Al Nassr the next mandate.

He hoped to help the Riyad Club in their first major trophy since he joined Manchester United in 2022.

The 40 -year -old has finished as a top scorer in the professional league in each of the last two seasons. In total, he scored 99 goals in 105 appearances for Al Nassr.

Ronaldo ended the season at the top, marking in a penalty shootout while Portugal won the League of Nations by defeating Spain in the final.
