Disney Plus gets another price increase

Disney again increases the price of Disney Plus subscriptions as part of its mission to suppress the profits of its streaming service.

The new prices will come into force on October 21. The autonomous plan with announcements will increase from $ 2 to $ 11.99 per month, while the Disney Plus PLUM PLAN. No-Ads will increase from $ 3 to $ 18.99 per month (with the annual subscription increased from $ 30 to $ 189.99 per year). Various packages also get price increases, and you can see all price increases in a Disney Plus support page.

Although the latest increases comply with Disney’s past behavior, timing is not ideal given the public relations crisis which followed Disney temporarily pulling Jimmy Kimmel Live! Off ABC. Disney announced that the end of evening talk show was restored after having “thoughtful conversations” with Kimmel, only six days after having suspended production on the comments of the hosts on the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The decision to draw the show aroused public indignation and the calls to boycott subscriptions to Disney streaming services.

Journalist Marisa Kabas reported on Monday that Disney’s haste to restore Kimmel’s program may have been motivated by the expected Disney prices and prices. Citing an unnamed Disney source, Kabas said that “with the hemorrhage of subscriptions since last week, they could not risk losing more users with this ad.”
