Trump to assign Charlie Kirk the Presidential Liberty Medal

President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he would award the conservative activist Charlie Kirk the presidential freedom of freedom, the highest civil distinction in the country, after Kirk was killed during a UTA university on Wednesday.

Trump, speaking to the Pentagon for an event commemorating the September 11 attacks, said that he wanted to honor Kirk’s family and his dedication to political activism. The remarks occurred one day after the co-founder of Turning Point USA was killed while he spoke with students from the University of Utah Valley, which caused a bipartite condemnation of political violence. The shooter is still in freedom.

The president said that the details of the ceremony are still to come, although he expects to see “a very large crowd”.

“Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of freedom and inspiration for millions and millions of people,” said Trump. “We are missing a lot, but I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and courage that he put in the heart of countless people, especially young people, will live.”

The prize made from Kirk the second recipient of the honor of the second term of Trump. Trump announced earlier this month that he would give the former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani the price after Giuliani was seriously injured in a car accident.

Trump was also one of the first people to announce the death of Kirk, describing him in a social position of truth like “loved and admired by all” and that “nobody understood or had the hearts of young people in the United States of America”.

Kirk approached the Trump family through their conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, developing friendships with Trump, his son Donald Trump Jr., and vice-president JD Vance. Trump has repeatedly suggested that he would not have been re -elected without the activism of Kirk.

“Charlie Kirk will tell you, Tiktok helped, but Charlie Kirk also helped,” Trump said at an oval test office for Jeanine Pirro’s ceremony in May, where Kirk was present. “He did very well and I appreciate all the help.”
