White House finds creative way to make blue states feel the pain of Schumer shutdown – RedState

The Trump administration has suspended $11 billion in infrastructure projects in a dozen predominantly Democratic-led states, such as New York, California and Illinois, amid the ongoing Schumer shutdown.
White House budget director Russ Vought announced the move on X, pointing to the ongoing federal government shutdown as having exhausted the Army Corps of Engineers’ ability to manage projects.
Additionally, Vought suggested the projects could be scrapped altogether.
“The Democratic shutdown has exhausted the Army Corps of Engineers’ ability to manage multibillion-dollar projects,” he announced. “The Corps will immediately suspend more than $11 billion in lower priority projects and consider canceling them, including projects in New York, San Francisco, Boston and Baltimore.”

Fetterman fires Democrats during shutdown and stuns forum crowd by refusing to call political opponents ‘fascists’
Politico reports that there are currently 12 states on the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) target list, of which Democratic governors lead 11.
The only exception is New Hampshire, whose Republican governor, Kelly Ayotte, has so far refused President Trump’s calls for redistricting in her state.
The majority of cities listed in Vought’s post are also rabid sanctuary cities friendly to illegal immigrants.
An OMB spokesperson justified stopping such projects to the media outlet, saying “taxpayer dollars should not subsidize infrastructure in states run by governors who ignore federal law.”

It’s not like these blue states/cities weren’t given enough warning. Trump said Tuesday that cuts to “programs that are Democratic programs” would be planned by the end of the week. And if the Schumer-led Democrats don’t get their act together, the budget cuts will be permanent.
“And in many cases, they will never come back,” the president said of the “most blatant, socialist, semi-communist, probably not totally communist programs.”
Since that warning, Democrats have voted twice more to maintain the government shutdown and rejected any attempt to advance an individual one-year appropriations bill to fund the Pentagon.
A recent poll shows that Americans are beginning to blame congressional Democrats for the gridlock in Washington.
Vought’s bold move to make Democratic-led states feel some pain comes as Schumer’s shutdown enters its third week. And there are very few signs of compromise on the horizon.
Still, you can go ahead and start the countdown on how long it will take for a federal judge to step in and stop these programs from being cut.
Editor’s Note: Schumer’s closure is here. Rather than putting the American people first, Chuck Schumer and radical Democrats forced a government shutdown on health care for illegal immigrants. They own that.
