Trump mixes humor and seriousness during McDonald’s summit speech on the need to make things affordable – RedState

President Donald Trump is known for his love of McDonald’s food. During the 2024 campaign, one of his actions that received a lot of attention was his visit to McDonald’s, while working the fryer and drive-thru window at one of their stores in Pennsylvania.

“I am honored to stand before you as the first-ever former McDonald’s fry cook to become president of the United States,” Trump said. He also joked that his 30 minutes on the phone was longer than Kamala Harris worked at McDonald’s, and a McDonald’s source confirmed she never worked there.
Trump explained how he served McDonald’s on Trump Force One and Air Force One.
.@POTUS: As you may have heard, I am also one of your most loyal customers ever. While other politicians travel on campaign planes full of expensive catering, on Trump Force One we served only MCDONALD’S almost every time…I even had @SecKennedy eat a Big Mac.🤣 pic.twitter.com/BjHt5q6bRC

He even managed to convince Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to eat a Big Mac.
One of the things he talked about was making things better for Americans.
.@POTUS: “There is still much work to do and we are making tremendous progress. 1.9 million more U.S.-born workers are employed today than when I took office… Wages for hourly workers are growing at the fastest rate in 60 years.” pic.twitter.com/2Hvu33hnO6

“There is still a lot of work to do.
Employment of the native-born increased by 1,998,000 year over year in July. At the same time, employment of foreign-born workers has fallen, which makes sense given the deportations. And he’s not kidding about this wage growth either.
Blue-collar workers saw real wage growth of nearly 2% during the first five months of President Donald Trump’s second term, the largest increase in nearly 60 years.
The 1.7% wage increase stands in stark contrast to negative growth under Joe Biden, according to new data from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Since Richard Nixon in 1969, Trump was the only president to record positive growth in the number of workers during his first five months. He also obtained 1.3% during his first term.
Trump promised to make things more affordable.
.@POTUS: My commitment to every family and every small business is that I will not rest until you are richer, stronger, more prosperous, happier… That starts with Making America Affordable. pic.twitter.com/xdFsWiZxg4

He mentioned that things like energy and eggs had decreased, but there was still work to be done.
He also offered them a little Trump dance.
