Trump finally realizes that the Russian despot is not reliable

After believing Russian President Vladimir Putin for the past 10 years as a trustworthy Vlad, Donald Trump Now has properly decided that Putin may not be the most honest of the interlocutors on the world scene. Trump made this surprising discovery – decades after practically everyone – while Putin continues to hit Ukraine while also assuring Trump that he is committed to put himself at peace with the country he decided to conquer more than three years ago.

This awareness forced Trump to finally release additional weapons in Ukraine and threaten Russia with steep prices if he does not reach a cease-fire within 50 days. Putin, for his part, reacted as we hear: tell Trump and everyone to beat the sand because he will do whatever he wants.

As Several sources in the Kremlin have told ReutersThe Russian despot does not only plan to retreat from his war of assault, but wants to extend the territorial gains of Russia more to Ukraine, an obvious non-beginner for any potential peace plan because negotiations are already hampered by his inflexibility on issues such as the preservation of Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was clear when the Kremlin launched 400 drones on Tuesday in Ukraine, in particular by targeting the hometown of the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Kryvyi Rih.

Part of the problem is that Trump is and has always been far from his depth. The heritor of a real estate company that has launched and crushed several companies and before playing a prosperous businessman as a television character is not particularly prepared for the extraordinarily high issues of the management of the pre -eminent superpower of the globe.

Trump always thinks that the argument with an authentic like Putin – a former KGB lieutenant -colonel is obsessed with a bygone vision of a glorious imperial Russia or – is the same as to conclude an agreement for a building on Park Ave. With one of his real estate friends with whom he would again have golf on weekends.

Whatever he thinks, knowing about Putin is because Putin knew how to press her buttons to get what he wanted. If Trump now realizes that Putin is a ruthless despot that will do everything necessary to advance his objectives without honor or underlying morality, then welcome to the club, although it is a little too late. We must not forget that Trump’s first dismissal was born because he tried to block the help of weapons in Ukraine at a time when this country had already been invaded by Russia, although more limited.

Trump has browned wildly through positions on the conflict and its belligerents, indicating at various times that he admires Putin and disdaining Ukraine to fold in the Putin reprimand and to provide the weapons that Ukraine needs to defend himself. All this is not the result of a brilliant strategic thought, but simply the consequence of not having much interest in the details of foreign affairs.

However, better late than never, and we hope that Trump will at least stand in his arms on it rather than to adopt once again the position of the person he talked about last or whatever he thinks will play best with the base. If he needs to look at him from the objective of avoiding the humiliation of Putin, who shows on the world scene that he does not care what Trump has to say, when he is so. Show Putin that he is wrong and that the United States can always be a force for good.
