Sign Jaguars No. 2 Global Choice Travis Hunter to a four -year recruit contract

It was a big decision for the new Jacksonville regime under the first year GM James Gladstone, with Gladstone describing Hunter on the evening of the draft evening as a player with “the ability to modify the trajectory of sport itself”.

Hunter becomes the 30th of the choices of the first round of this year to be officially signing this year, with only the Shemar Stewart of Bengals and the Broncos Jahdae Barron left to ink their agreements.

Hunter has stormed the world of football during his stay in Colorado with his ability to play full time at both a wide receiver and a cornerback, recording an impressive 111.5 snaps per game in his last season with the buffaloes and leaving as the only FBS player since 2000 with more than 10 TD catches and more than five interceptions in a career. This bidirectional domination led Hunter to win the Heisman trophy at the end of the 2024 college season.

Until now, in the off -season training sessions, Hunter has impressed fans looking forward to his beginnings, even if the jaguars slowly facilitate him in the NFL workload. They started by not making him train on one side of the ball every day during volunteer ota, working to practice on both sides during mini-camp practices. Head coach Liam Coen said last week that he planned more movements back and forth when preparations continue to accelerate.

Now, with his first officially signed NFL contract, Hunter’s attention can turn entirely to prepare to contribute on both sides of the ball in the coming season, with recruits that should go to the training camp in just under a month.
