The kindness of foreigners: sobbing in a rack of bra, an assistant from grandmother has appeased | Health and well-being

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and immediately had to undergo a single mastectomy. Said by the doctors, I had to wear very soft bra for a while, two months after surgery, I went to my local department store to find something suitable.

I was struck around and I really felt horrible in my skin – painful, sad and marked, and as if I would never have attractive myself. Somewhere at the bottom of the brake racks, I became so overwhelmed by everything I just broke down and I started to sob.

At the corner of the street came a little grandmother store assistant. She deposited everything she held, approached and asked me if I was fine.

Through tears, I explained how hacked and completely intimidated. She took my two hands, let me sob a little and said to me, “I know it doesn’t want now, but everything will be fine.” She gave me handkerchiefs to put me away, helped me find bras, and I left.

Six years later, I went back to the same store. I get married and I needed a bra to go under my wedding dress. To my great surprise and my joy, my adjuster was the same woman: Margaret, whose South African accent strong has jogging my memory.

I told Margaret how incredible she was for me that day six years ago – and she remembered me! We were both a little tearful, hugging again and once again, she helped me find a bra. It was like making the loop complete. I wrote to the store later to tell them what a wonderful employee they have. Without drama and without hassle, Margaret knew exactly how to calm down in my moment of distress.

Of course, Margaret was absolutely right ago all these years ago – everything was, in the end, ok. The mastectomy got rid of all cancer, sparing me the need for any radiation or chemotherapy. My partner and I were married last month and it was a wonderful celebration of the big life. And the Margaret bra helped me choose for the big day was simply perfect.
