Tottenham Hotspur have been continually linked with a move for Japanese international striker Takefusa Kubo.

The 24-year-old has done quite well for La Liga side Real Sociedad and he also has the technical qualities to do well in the Premier League. Tottenham could use more of an advantage in the final third, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to sign the Japan international.

According to Pete O’Rourke, the player would likely cost around £52 million. This won’t be a cheap acquisition, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are willing to pay. Kubo has also been linked with Arsenal.

Tottenham learns of Takefusa Kubo’s asking price

He said: “He has continually been linked with a move to the Premier League with Tottenham, Liverpool over the years, as well as Aston Villa.

“A top young player who has done very well for Real Sociedad, so it is no surprise that top European clubs are also interested in the Japan international.

“He has a release clause in his contract, so it would be simple if Tottenham wanted to sign him in January.

“£52 million is not a cheap deal by any means. So this will be taken into account if Tottenham also want to strengthen their interest in Kubo.”

Kubo would be a useful addition

The Japanese International is versatile enough to operate both centrally and on the flanks. He could be an asset for Tottenham if they can get the deal done. His ability to take on multiple roles will be a bonus.

In addition, the signing of Japan International will also be beneficial on a commercial level. They have benefited greatly from Son Heung-min’s presence over the years. The addition of Kubo to the squad will help fill this void and allow Tottenham to maximize revenue from the Asian market.

It probably won’t be difficult to convince the player to join the club. It remains to be seen whether they are willing to pay.
