Tottenham condemns Mathys’ racial abuse Tel after the loss of Super Cup

Tottenham published a statement after striker Mathys Tel was subject to online racist abuses after their Super Cup defeat against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spurs were beaten 4-3 on penalties after having wasted an advance of two goals, the club marking those responsible for sending abusive messages to the 20-year-old as “just cowards”.
This was presented in the 79th minute and continued to be one of the two players of the Spurs who missed the shooting place.
“Mathys has shown that the courage and courage to advance and take a penalty, but those who abuse it are only cowards – hiding behind user names and anonymous profiles to broadcast their odious opinions,” Tottenham said in a statement.
“We will work with the authorities and social media platforms to take the strongest possible measures against anyone we are able to identify.
“We stick to you, Mathys.”
In the match itself, Tottenham was 2-0 in the 84th minute and seemed ready for his second trophy in three months. PSG retaliated late, with Goncalo Ramos heading in an equalizer of 94th minute.
During the shooting, the defender of the Spurs Micky Van de Ven saw his efforts saved before such a penalty sends. Nuno Mendes then converted the decisive kick to seal the victory of PSG.
Tottenham assured such permanently in June for around 30 million pounds sterling, following a loan spell that started in January.
The French striker played 20 appearances last season, scoring three goals and was an unused replacement in the final triumph of the Europa League of Spurs against Manchester United.
