Top Patriots target fuels trade rumors with latest comments

The New England Patriots are having a breakout campaign in 2025, as the team went on a seven-game winning streak to reach an 8-2 record. No matter what happens for the rest of the season, you can bet the front office will be aggressive when it comes to improving the team’s roster this offseason.

At the trade deadline, the Patriots finally held on, and given the astronomical prices players were seeking, that might not have been the worst thing. Several of New England’s top targets will be available this offseason, and it appears one in particular is trending toward being traded.

That player would be Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown. Coming off a Super Bowl with the Eagles last season, Brown was quite frustrated with his lack of production this year. During a show with popular Twitch streamer JankyRondo, Brown made several comments that will only fuel the trade rumors surrounding him.

“If you put me on Fantasy, man, get rid of me,” Brown said Tuesday night, apparently expressing frustration with the lack of opportunities he’s had to play this year.

Later in the stream, which featured the duo playing the popular video game “Madden 26,” Brown looked at the big numbers he got while playing with himself in the game. This led him to take another photo of his team for the world to see.

“Nine for 168 (yards), two touchdowns… Those are the only highlights of damn football I’m experiencing right now,” Brown said.

Even though the Patriots offense has been firing on all cylinders this season, there is no doubt that the team could still use help at the wide receiver position. Brown, of course, once played for New England head coach Mike Vrabel during their time together with the Tennessee Titans.

It seems increasingly likely that the Eagles will have to consider moving Brown this offseason as his frustrations with the team become hard to ignore. For now, the Patriots will focus on making the most of their 2025 campaign, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see them make a run for Brown this offseason.
