Tonali rejects the speech on the return to Italy, the Newcastle midfielder “Happy where I am”

Sandro Tonali rejected the discussions on a return to Serie A after helping Newcastle United finish his long wait for a major trophy and return to the Champions League.
Tonali joined AC Milan Newcastle in July 2023 for costs of 60 million pounds Sterling, but only played 12 games in all competitions during his first season before being touched by a 10 -month suspension for an illegal Paris activity.
He returned to action last August and played a decisive role for Newcastle when they won their first major domestic trophy for 70 years with a 2-1 victory against Liverpool in the EFL Cup. The Magpies then finished a memorable season by finishing fifth in the Premier League, guaranteeing the qualification of the Champions League for next season with the kind authorization of the additional place won due to the UEFA coefficient of England.
After an indifferent start to the 2024-25 season, Newcastle’s fortune was largely transformed by Tonali, transferred to the base of the midfielder, his ability to find possession and progress the Pivotal ball striker to the success of the Eddie Howe team.
Tonali scored six goals and provided three assists in 2024-25. He finished the third equally in the Premier League for the possessions won in the middle of the field (109).
Tonali Newcastle midfielder and Brazilian internationals Bruno Guimaraes and Jelinton are considered one of the best in the Premier League.
And, after having spoke warmly the way the club stood next to him during his ban, Tonali does not intend to return to Italy.
“I am happy where I am now. I have found people who care about myself and I care about them,” Tonali told Sky Sport Italia before the qualifications of the Italy World Cup with Norway and Moldova.
“I don’t want to break the ties I have built.” I had a lot of thoughts every day, but right now, I’m happy where I am. »»

Recalling the victorious campaign of the EFL Cup, Tonali added: “It was beautiful because it was difficult.
“We were not the favorites, and we have never really been. We beat Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.
“We were not the favorites in almost all the games, but it was also special because an unexpected team wins, all the eyes turn to them. It was incredible to do it with a team that had not done it for 70 years, with incredible fans.”
Italy aims to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 2014, and their task should be easier with the expansion of the tournament to a final of 48 teams in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The Azzurri collapsed from Euro 2024, a tournament that Tonali missed because of his ban, with a 16 -year -old defeat against Switzerland.
Tonali marked twice while Italy has reached the quarter -finals of the League of Nations, in which they lost against Germany.
Now, while Italy aims to go through a qualification group in which Norway is the main threat, Tonali hopes that a feeling of unity will serve them well.
“Sometimes, when I am far from Italy for a long time or for long breaks, I lack a little return home, but I always come back with the national team and I always do my best,” he explained.
“There is a group here that wants to be together and must be here, united. There is a desire to face these 10 days as a real team, to stay close and to try not to make things more difficult for ourselves. This is often where the teams are fighting, and we try to keep things simple.”
