Tokyo International Film Festival unveils the competition programming

The Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF, October 27-November 5) unveiled its full range, including its main competition section, with the world’s leading worlds such as Rithy Panh, Amos Gitai, Chong Keat Aun and Zhang Lu.
Rithy Panh of Cambodia will bring her documentary We are the fruits of the forestOn the ethnic minorities in northern Cambodia, at the festival, while the Israeli filmmaker Amos Gitai will be presented in first Golem in Pompeywhich documents his play organized in a theater of the ancient city of Pompei, combined with fictitious sequences.
Chong Keiat Aun Mother Bhumi Stars fan bingbing as a woman in a Malaysian village in the 1990s, discovering the truth behind the death of her husband, while Zhang Lu, fresh to win the Best Busan film Prize for Gloaming in Luomuis presenting Mortal tongueWith Bai Baihe, in Tokyo. Bai plays an actress in difficulty returning to her hometown in Sichuan in the new film of Zhang.
Other first world in the competition programming include BlondAbout a teacher taken in a scandal, directed by the Japanese filmmaker Yuichiro Sakashita; Chinese director Peng Fei Take off, About a Chinese worker obsessed with the construction of an in itself theft machine; and family drama Maria Vitoria Mario sponsorship of Portugal.
Films receiving their first Asian at the festival include Kitchen Death Du Pen-Ek Ratanaruang in Thailand, the Hungarian filmmaker Gyorgy Palfi Chicken and the historic drama of Annemarie Jacir Palestine 36 (See the full range below).
Tiff also announced the 11 films which will receive their first world in the future Asian section of the first, second and third films in all of Asia and the Middle East (See the full range below).
As announced previously, Junji Sakamoto Climb for lifeA biopic by Japanese mountaineer Junko Tabei will play the festival’s opening film, while Chloé Zhao Hamnet Will select like the closing film. Yoji Yamada Taxi from Tokyo was defined as the mismanagement of the centerpiece.
Gala projections include Ari Aster EddingtonScott Cooper Springsteen: Delive Me de Nowhere; Juno Mak Son of the NEON Night; Lim dae Holy Night: Demon huntersWith Done Lee and Hikari Rental familyAmong other titles. Several Japanese films will also receive gala projections, including Koji Fukada Love in trialsKasho Iizuka Blue Boy trial And Yuichiro Sakashita I can’t cry with your face.
Japanese cinema will now project a mixture of world first and realizations of festivals such as Yukari Sakamoto White flowers and fruits And Akio Fujimoto Lost land. The other major festival sections include the TIFF series, the World Focus, the empowerment of women, young people, animation and Japanese classics.
Among the masterclasses and other events, the festival is again organizing a series of Tiff Lounge discussions between the main filmmakers, including a session with Yoji Yamada and Good morning The director Lee Sang-il, while the filmmaker of Hong Kong, Soil, will deliver a masterclass.
Tokyo also launched a new section, Asian Students’ Film Conference, a live film and animated film competition of less than 60 minutes recommended by film schools from all over Asia, including titles rewarded in Cannes and other festivals. Supported by the Metropolitan government of Tokyo, this section will project 15 films with emerging Asian talents during the festival.
