Tacoma, Washington – A 2 -year -old girl who moved away from her home was found safe on Saturday morning, just over an hour after the police said that a man took her from the outside of a Tacoma Wendy.
The surveillance video has shown that the man entering the restaurant around 9 a.m. asking employees if they knew the parents of the girl. At the time, the toddler – identified only as deedee – was alone on the sidewalk outside.
When the employees said they did not know, and before they could call the police, the man placed the child in his car and moved away, Tacoma police said.
About an hour later, the police located DEEDEE in a house in the County of Pierce. Police did not say where the home or confirmed the man’s bond with him, but said that the child had found his parents.
An Amber alert was issued around 11:30 am and canceled an hour later.
Tacoma police spokesman Shelbie Boyd said the case was unusual in his experience.
“In my career, with this type of call, I have personally seen this,” said Boyd. “I didn’t work like that.”
Police do not identify the man because he was not officially charged. The agents have credited the rapid recovery of community councils.
“This little information you may not think of telling … could be this piece that puts it all together,” said Boyd. “And today it brought back to home.”
