Category of today’s connections
May 21 # 710
One of the ways in which I was able to resolve the puzzle today was to Display of words as titles or actions rather than by simple definitions. For example, when I looked at the word trash, I didn’t just think of how it could be a literal sentence for garbage. I thought about how the trash can also designate a “Garbage can” Folder on a computer, where you would throw digital data.
These tips can help you start to train categories, especially if you have trouble finding models in today’s puzzle:
- A category concerns the things used to describe the actions to prevent someone from penetrating somewhere.
- A category concerns things used for title different subjects that organize the content of a computer.
- A category concerns the things that doctors use to define different articles in medical terms.
- A category concerns things that all open the same way.

REFUSE |
This part of the puzzle was easy for me, because I first saw that Waste, denying and blocking were all terms that describe it from something. However, even with this initial success, I imagined that Bar referred to a literal location rather than an action. As such, it took me a while to realize that to prohibit someone from doing something that fits into the context of this category.

This puzzle section was a fight for me, because I originally thought that the office, the tablet and the laptop were all in another category for themselves. However, I realized that The trash could mean the “Garbage can” folder on a computerWhich made me rethink some terms. I realized that there was also a section of music, images and desktops in a computer, which helps organize different types of content.

Whenever a doctor tells you to take a prescribed pill, he will always call it like a tablet instead. It was the logic that helped me understand this category, which uses more medical definitions of words rather than their more common sentences. A patch means a bandage, the cream means something that looks like lotion and spray is a mist sometimes used in medical procedures.

Visualization was crucial for this section of the puzzle, because these words have apparently no model through their definitions alone. Starting with the waffle iron, I recognized that The clam and the laptop were both shaped in the same way like a waffle iron. Similar to a Gameboy advance or certain flip phones, a compact CD player would open exactly the same way as the other terms in this category.
