Cleveland Browns prompted to exchange QB for a meager return

Maybe you’ve heard, but Cleveland’s Browns have too many quarters. Although they have already appointed Joe Flacco as a starter, the teams do not need four backup QB. Currently, the Browns still have Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, Sheder Sanders and even Tyler Huntley. Deshaun Watson is still hiding somewhere. Although it always rehabilitates a torn Achilles and its status for the 2025 season is unknown.

Remember that the teams generally keep two or three quarters on the list, and sometimes another in the training team. Browns can be ready to keep the four Flacco, Pickett, Gabriel and Sanders. However, they may finally need this precious list space to keep a precious contributor to another position.

Recently, Alex Kay de Bleacher Report suggested that the Browns should try to negotiate Pickett at the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a sixth round choice.

“While Adam Schefter of ESPN suggested that the Browns could transport four signals on their final list, they should call and see if they can get a choice of 3 years for Pickett before making this decision. The Vikings could prefer a backup with some experience to work behind JJ McCarthy this season. Minnesota with a quality insurance option for an unproven young signator. »»

Blanchar report on Browns Trading Pickett

This is an interesting proposal, especially since the Browns acquired Pickett earlier this offseason when they had no idea who would be their initial QB. At that time, Pickett was brought as a withdrawal option, but the Browns have since made plans with three other quarters.

However, by exchanging Dorian Thompson-Robinson plus a choice of fifth round, obtaining a sixth in return for months later, it would look like a bad investment, but it is better than cutting it and not recovering anything.

Pickett is only 27 years old. The old first round choice would bring more experience to a QB Vikings room which is a little light on the seasoning. However, the Vikings can love what they have in the recruit not drafted Max Brosmer. Between the Sam Howell and Rypian Brett backups, they may not have the impression of making another investment in this position is a high priority, in particular with other needs, such as acquiring another receiver.
