Today and GMA hosts rarely get together

TV’s biggest morning show hosts joined forces to celebrate their mutual friend, Deborah Roberts.

Hosts of Today And Hello America supported Roberts at an event for his new book, Loved and cherished sisters: stories of unbreakable bondson Tuesday October 21. “Excited to celebrate @debrobertsabc’s latest future bestseller about the power of sisterhood!! The beloved and cherished sisters in stores now!” Guthrie captioned the Instagram photos from the evening.

Guthrie’s post included a group photo featuring herself, her ex Today co-presenter, Hoda Kotb and Roberts. In another photo, Guthrie smiles for the camera with Deborah and GMAIt’s Robin Roberts.

Deborah is known as one of ABC News’ most high-profile personalities, anchoring 20/20 with David Muir and frequently appearing on GMA as a reporter and substitute host. His connection to NBC is through his love life, to whom Deborah was married. Today‘s Al Roker since 1995. The couple share two children: daughter Leila, 26, and son Nick, 23. (Roker also shares his eldest child, daughter Courtney, 38, with his late ex-wife, Alice Bell.)

Guthrie, Kotb, and Robin’s support of Deborah fits with her book’s themes of sisterhood. “When I read a study that said sisters are good for your emotional well-being, your optimism, that they protect you, I thought, you know, sisters, I never really thought about that,” Deborah said of her book on Tuesday’s episode. GMA. “And as the years go by, you get older, you kind of drift. And I was like, ‘I want to explore that,’ and it was so, so wonderful.”

She continued, “I’ve talked to a lot of people and collected a lot of stories about the journey. … There’s something there, there’s a connection, and I wanted to get to the root of that. What about that connection with the sisters? And it turns out there really is something that unites us through good times and bad.”

Deborah was joined on the ABC series by four of her six sisters. Roker shared snaps of himself listening to his wife’s GMA appearance via Instagram on Tuesday, and shared the homemade meal he prepared for her.

“Tonight, in honor of the release of @debrobertsabc’s new book, Sisters, Loved And Cherished and her four sisters appearing this morning on that other morning show, I made sure they had a nice family dinner of #lasagna and an #applegalette,” he captioned the post.

Deborah thanked her husband in the post’s comments, saying, “So I appreciate you and I love you!”
