Predator: Badlands – Thia and Dek faced the new cover of SFX magazine

SFX Magazine has unveiled its latest cover, and it offers new striking works to Predator: Badlands.

This last look at the highly anticipated Dan Trachtenberg Prey Followed by Dek projectors, a young Yautja warrior who will be presented as the first predatory protagonist of the franchise, and Thia, a Weyland-Yutani synth played by her Fanning.

This inadequate pair will become improbable allies because they will cross an inhospitable planet with a danger that is hidden on every street corner. Just in case it was not clear to this cover and previous teasers, Thia will undergo some major damage at a given moment, dek carrying around the upper half of her body on her back.

During the SDCC earlier this year, Trachtenberg said that he was inspired by Chewbacca carrying C-3PO on the back after the droid is castigated in pieces The Empire retreats.

Trachtenberg previously described Dek as the “Runt of the Liver”, adding, “This is a thing of a few words, quite frank. He cuts straight to the point. Literally and figuratively.”

The filmmaker also addressed the decision to return the scenario somewhat by making one of the deadly extraterrestrial hunters one of the heroes of the film.

“It looks like a big idea, not only in Predator, but in science fiction in general. In most science fiction universes,” creatures “are either bad guys or acolytes. [Badlands] It is: “What if you were with the creature on this crazy mission to prove itself, seeing everything through his eyes?” “”

In a separate interview, Trachtenberg revealed that Badlands was inspired by the Shadow of the Colossus Video game.

“As inspired as I am by films, I was very inspired by video games [like] Shadow of the Colossus, where you have a protagonist associated with someone else who provides color and connection, ” Add Trachtenberg. “There is one thing with a horse in the shadow of the Colossus which is devastating when you play the game. And so [Predator: Badlands] was a little inspired by that in terms of wanting to see the predator with someone else, this character who is the opposite of him. He is very laconic, [Fanning] is not. She is capable in a way that he is not. Physically, she has a real thing that I am so excited for you guys. But I want to let it talk about it talking about itself.

Predator: Badlands East “Located in the future on a remote planet, where a young predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), pariah of his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate opponent.”

Trachtenberg directs and produces Predator: Badlands Alongside John Davis, Marc Toberoff, Ben Rosenblatt and Brent O’Connor. The film opens exclusively in the cinemas of November 7 in Imax, Dolby Cinema, Cinemark XD, 4DX, Screenx and Premium Screens everywhere.
