Vaibhav Suryavanshi makes unreal 144 off 42 in Asia Cup, puts pressure on Ajit Agarkar

14-year-old opening batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi set the stage on fire in the ongoing ACC Men’s Rising Stars Asian Cup 2025 match on Friday (November 14).
Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an exceptional knock on Children’s Day and punished the United Arab Emirates (UAE) bowlers at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi plays a destructive shot
India A won the toss in the second match of the 2025 ACC Rising Stars Men’s Asian Cup and elected to bat first. Two of the world’s most aggressive young hitters – Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya – opened the innings for India A, and fireworks were expected when they came to middle.

However, India started slowly and on the fourth ball of the second over, which was bowled by Muhammad Rohid Khan, Priyansh Arya was bowled out for 10 runs off 6 balls.
After that, it was a one-man show from 14-year-old opening batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi who activated his beast mode and made life hell for the UAE bowling unit.
He was playing with the UAE bowlers, and Naman Dhir was just a spectator on the other side. Suryavanshi’s attacking batting helped him reach the triple-digit mark for India A in no time as he completed his century off just 32 balls.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi creates history
The batter was not satisfied after reaching the ton, and he continued to hit brilliantly before falling in the 13th over. On the third ball of the 13th over, Muhammad Farazuddin managed to hit the wicket of the explosive batter. He finished his innings with 144 runs from 42 balls, with 11 fours and 15 sixes.
At one point, it looked like Suryavanshi was going to hit a double ton, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. However, he still managed to create several records.
The left-handed batter became the only batter with two T20 hundreds in less than 35 balls and the first cricketer to score a century for India A in a T20 match.
At 14 years and 232 days, Suryavanshi became the youngest to hit a hundred for a men’s national representative team, and his strike rate of 324.85 is the fourth highest for any men’s T20 hundred.
He scored 134 of his 144 runs via boundaries, which is a whopping 93.05% and only three men have recorded more runs in fours and sixes in a T20 match.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has already scored centuries in IPL, Youth ODI, Youth Test and now Asia Cup, is putting pressure on the Ajit Agarkar-led BCCI selection committee to recruit him to the senior team and not judge him based on his age.
