Tim Allen Reveals Film’s Lead Role, Details Crazy Sequence With ‘100’ Buzz Lightyears
There is a lot of enthusiasm around Toy Story 5. And, having delivered equal parts hits and box office bombs over the past few years, it has a chance to be the film that once again cements Pixar as Hollywood’s leading animation studio.
Returning to what works proved to be a beneficial move for Pixar, especially after former Disney CEO Bob Chapek decided to make many of its COVID-era streaming releases exclusive, hurting the brand and its ability to sell original stories to audiences.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel liveBuzz Lightyear actor Tim Allen shared some news Toy Story 5 plot details, confirming that Joan Cusack’s Jessie will star in the film. Interestingly, he also called the film a “restart” for the long-running series.
“This thing [Toy Story 5]they restart everything”, the actor said (via Toonado.com). “It’s all about Jesse, which is really cool. She’s in trouble and she needs help. We’re everywhere, so she has to bring everyone together.”
“The funniest thing for me is that there is a plane crash like this. [Tom] Hanks movie [Castaway],” » added Allen. “On the island where a FedEx plane or something lands with 100 Buzz dolls, and they’re all lost. It’s hysterical. They’re trying to find their way, and there’s a hundred of them. I hope they have it in there. I’m improvising.”
He also responded to filmmaker Quentin Tarantino’s comments on Toy Story 3 being one of the best films he has ever watched. “I’m with Tarantino,” the actor enthused. “I think number 3 was one of the best films ever made. Four, it expanded a lot.”
Toy Story 5 This looks like a lot of fun, and it was previously reported that the toys had to team up to take a frog-like tablet named Lilypad. The idea of toys taking on technology is undeniably intriguing, especially since children’s interests have changed significantly since then. Toy story was released in 1995.
