Shweta Tripathi, the acclaimed Indian actor known for his role as a break in the title of Cannes “Masaan” and his star Tour in “Mirzapur” by Prime Video, is ready to put himself behind the camera for his first feature film as a producer.

The project, entitled “Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan”, will be a queer love story with Tripathi alongside the internationally recognized actor Tillotama Shome.

The film, directed by the award -winning filmmaker of the Indian National Award, Sanjoy Nag, is expected to be in production by the end of 2025.

“This film is close to my heart – not only because it is my first as a producer, but because of what it represents,” said Tripathi. “Queer love stories deserve to be told with honesty, beauty and nuance. Having Tillotama on board makes it even more special. She is not only a phenomenal actor, she is also someone that I am deeply admired and that we have confidence. We want to work together for a long time, and I cannot think of a better project to start this trip. ”

Shome is an Indian actor known mainly for his work in independent films, starting with a support role in the Venice winner of Mira Nair “Monsoon Wedding” (2001). She played in the title of Cannes “SIR” (2018) and in “Shadowbox”, which was presented in Berlinale earlier this year.

Shome also played in “A Death in the Gunj” (2017) and “Lust Stories 2” (2023), as well as the television series “Delhi Crime” (2022), “The Night Manager” (2023) and “Paatal Lok” (2025).

The project will be led by NAG, which won the Prize for the Indian National Film in 2011 for its first feature film “Memories in March”, which was presented to the Busan International Film Festival. Its credits include “Yours really” (2018), which was also created in Busan, and “Good Morning Sunshine” (2023).
