DETRAIT – – Keider Montero and three lifts combined on a five strikers and the Detroit Tigers beat the rays of Tampa Bay 4-1 Monday evening.
The Tigers (58-34) won four consecutive games while giving only four points, improving 24 games out of 0,500 for the first time since 2013.
Montero (4-1) granted a point and four strokes and a six-round walking while removing four. After losing its first departure, Montero has a 4-0 sheet with a 3.31 MPM in 11 outings as a storm and loose relief.
Tyler Holton, Brenan Hanifee and will each acquire an aimless round to fill the victory.
Shane Baz (8-4) granted three points and seven strokes with two steps and seven stick withdrawals in six heats for the Rays, who have lost seven of their last 10 games. Baz entered the match with a 5-0 file in his last eight departures.
The tigers took the lead in the second on the Javier Báez circuit in Rays.
Jonathan Arianda made 2-1 with a simple two-point RBI in the third, but the right field player Zach McKinstry threw Danny Jansen trying to go from the first to the third.
Riley Greene’s single RBI put 3-1 tigers in the fifth. Before Colt Keith and McKinstry, the lift Paul Gervase in the eighth.
Gleyber Torres walked during the first round to extend his basic sequence at 20 games, the longest for a tiger player since the 24 Kerry Carpenter race race in 2023. George Kell holds the franchise record at 57 games in 1950.
Rays 3B Junior Caminero received applause from the crowd of the Comicica Park after flying in the stands while trying to catch the naufrant pop-up of Parker Meadows in eighth round. Caminero ended up getting tangled in the net in a sitting position and was helped by Jansen and the third basis of Tigers, Joey Cora. He stayed in the game after a rapid control of the Rays training staff.
Tigers Rhp Jack Flaherty (5-9, 4.84 ERA) faces the RHP Ryan Pepiot (6-6, 3.34) rays.
