Tia explains why she and Cory divorced
Tia and Cory married in 2008 and welcomed two children together: a son Cry in 2011 and his daughter Cairo in 2018.
But in 2022, the couple separated. While Tia cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their breakup in her divorce filing, she later gave insight into the moment she knew her marriage to Cory was over.
“I knew when I really started focusing on my happiness,” the Sister, Sister said an alumnus during a November 2022 episode of Today. “I feel like women, we tend to focus on making other people happy, making sure everyone else is okay, meaning our kids, our friends, our family. But ultimately it’s about self-love. And when you start to really work on yourself, to love yourself, to know your worth, to know your worth, then all of a sudden there’s this awakening. After being honest with herself about the dissolution of her marriage, Tia also wanted to be candid with the public.
