Three local players from the Chicago Fire FC signed with a new contract

Chris Brady, Sergio Oregel Jr. and Mauricio Pineda extend the contracts with the fire for several seasons

CHICAGO (September 16, 2025) – The Chicago Fire FC announced today that the club had signed the goalkeeper Chris Brady and the field circles Sergio Oregel Jr. and Mauricio Pineda to new contracts, strengthening the club’s commitment to develop and preserve the best local talents. Sergio Irregular Jr.
Oregel Jr. is now under contract with the club throughout the 2028 season, with a club option for 2029. Oregel Jr., 20, has become the 22nd local signature in the history of the club when he signed a first team contact on October 23, 2021. The native of Chicago joined the Fire Academy at the age of U-14 in 2018, in which he scored nine goals and recorded 15 Assists during his first season. He was also a key member of the U-19 team from the Chicago Fire Academy who won the first U-19 MLS championship in July 2021. Mauricio Pineda midfielder
Pineda is now under contract with the club throughout the 2027 season, with a club option for 2028. Pineda, 27, was a coherent presence for the Chicago fire since the signing of a local contract on January 17, 2020. During six seasons, Pineda played 149 games with the fire (118 departures), marking seven goals and granting five assists as defensive.

Pineda became the first local player in the club history to start each match of the season during his recruit campaign and was appointed defensive player of the Chicago FC of the year. Before joining the first team, Pineda presented for the Fire Academy, helping the club win the national championship in 2015.
