Three clubs register interest in £10m star

Leicester have made a promising start to the league, although they currently sit outside the automatic promotion places. Marto Cifuentes’ side will be keen to finish in the top two and to do so they could look to strengthen in January.
However, this will not be simple, given the PSR restrictions. They have recouped plenty of money from the sales of Mads Hermansen, Kasey McAteer and James Justin, among others, but Leicester bosses would welcome further exits when the transfer window reopens as it would help them improve the club’s financial situation.
And a prime player to help Leicester in this situation is Boubakary Soumaré, who has been left out of the starting line-up in recent weeks.
Leicester wants to sell Boubakary Soumaré – three enthusiastic clubs
According to SportsBoom (via Foxes of Leicester), Leicester are expected to sell Soumaré in January, as this would allow them to avoid losing him for free when his contract expires at the end of the season. An asking price of £10m has been set, reportedly attracting interest from Monaco, Roma and Sevilla – the latter of whom have already loaned the midfielder during the 2023-24 campaign.
Soumaré has not started in either of Leicester’s last two matches, giving an indication that he is not part of Cifuentes’ plans for the future. If this is the case, it would be wise to get rid of him as soon as possible, as the money raised from his release could be reinvested into the first team.
It remains to be seen whether Soumaré, who has been open to an exit for a while now, will leave Leicester in January, but if he stays it seems certain he will leave next summer at the latest, given his chances of landing a new contract would be rather slim.
