Thora Birch, who starred as Dani Dennison in the original 1993 cult classic, has revealed she is “very open” to reprising the role more than 30 years later as a third film is in development following the sequel’s success on Disney+.
“Yeah, I’d love to know what they land on and how Dani ended up. I’m very open to the idea,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “They love to talk about this stuff, so we’ll see.”
In Hocus PocusDani, her older brother Max (Omri Katz) and her crush Allison (Vinessa Shaw) must save the children of Salem, Massachusetts after accidentally waking the witchy Sanderson sisters from their 300-year slumber.

Last week, Midler revealed that she had read the script for the third film and that “a lot of it was great,” but that “all these logistical things” need to be worked out before production can begin.
After playing the role of the Salem Witch, Winifred Sanderson, in the original Hocus Pocus (1993), Midler reunited with Parker and Najimy for the long-awaited sequel, which set a streaming record for Disney+ with 2.7 billion minutes watched in one week.
Following the success of the sequel, Sean Bailey, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, confirmed that a third film was in development.
