Like other JBL Bluetooth speakers, the Charge 6 has a large and powerful sound profile. It’s ideal for parties thanks to its advanced bass setup, and it gets loud enough for a dance party or quiet enough for a night by the campfire. It also includes the features we’ve come to expect from a modern portable speaker, like Auracast, which will allow you to pair it with other compatible JBL speakers to form a sound network. You can even plug it into certain devices for lossless playback, if you fancy a little more detail and nuance in your sound.

While the Charge 6 is a decent Bluetooth speaker in its own right, it also acts as a charging hub for your other devices, saving you from having to carry two separate pieces of plastic. The USB-C port on the side can charge your phone, and it has enough juice for up to 24 hours of listening time, or up to 28 hours with Playtime Boost, a JBL feature that extends the battery life of a Bluetooth speaker.

It comes in a variety of fun and exciting colors, so you don’t have to settle for black or white. I spotted the same $70 discount on all in-stock colors, including the vaguely hot dog pink option and the camouflage-like Squad color, in case you need your speakers to hide in the woods with you. It also includes a carrying strap, and while our reviewer Ryan Waniata wasn’t thrilled with the strap’s durability, it can help you carry the relatively heavy 3-pound speaker. It’s at least fairly rugged, with an IP68 dust and water rating, one of the strongest available.

The Charge 6’s biggest downside is its relatively high price, so cutting the purchase price by almost half makes it a much more attractive purchase. If that’s a little too big for your lifestyle, be sure to check out our Bluetooth speaker selection to see all our favorite picks.
