This animated masterpiece based on faith soon leaves streaming

Netflix takes the order “let go of my people” seriously. In its next redesign of library titles, the streamer removes several films, but one of the titles that will leave the biggest gap is the animated film The Prince of Egypt. The denominational film tells the story of Moses (expressed by Val kilmer), a Hebrew who, after being taken by a rich family, discovers that he’s mission to change the course of humanity. There is a good chance that you know the story of Moses, but one of the greatest achievements of The Prince of Egypt is capable of telling the confessional story in a way that does not seem predicted. Despite several religious elements, he focuses on complex family themes and the rivalry of the brothers and sisters taken with the most important consequences. In the film, Moses abandons the richness of the Egyptian family who adopted it once he realized that his mission is to release his Hebrew compatriots from slavery and to get them out of Egypt.

The Prince of Egypt Understands a starred vocal cast, but we must remember that his casting choices did not age well. At the time, Hollywood was hardly worried about the representation, so the majority of the main members of the vocal distribution are Caucasus, except for Danny Glover (The dead do not die), who expresses Jethro. It also has Ralph Fiennes (Conclave),, Sandra Bullock (The lost city),, Michelle Pfeiffer (The First Lady),, Patrick Stewart (Avengers: Doomsday),, Helen Mirren (Thursday Thursday Thursday),, Steve Martin (Only murders in the building), And Jeff Goldblum (Wicked).

In 1998, the film won more than $ 200 million at the world box office – a good number for animation, but it pale when you take into account that it costs around $ 100 million to do. At the time, it was a daring decision of DreamWorks Animation to get started – The Prince of Egypt was the second film of the studio, released a few months later Anti. The studio continued to make modern cinema classics like Chicken,, ShrekAnd Madagascar. Despite less than perfect performance, the heritage of the film is still – and it could soon be relaunched in live format.

The Prince of Egypt was also a star for her music: the score was composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King,, Creation), And his original song “When You Believe” won the Oscar in his category, beating truck competitors like “I don’t want to miss one thing” Armageddon, And “it’s going to do” Babe: Pig in the City.
