Thewrap hires Roger Cheng as a editor for business

Thewrap is pleased to announce that the editor and the editor -in -chief of veterans affairs, Roger Cheng, will join Thewrap as editor of business and professional subscribers, bringing with him decades of experience at the top of the editorial hall and shaping the coverage.
A former journalist for Dow Jones and the Wall Street Journal, Cheng has recently been a news chief, editor -in -chief and senior writer for almost a dozen years at CNET, the largest news and consumer technology revisions in the world.
Cheng, who is based in Los Angeles and begins on June 23, is the last of a series of experienced Thewrap hiring this year, including the editor Brian Lowry and the SVP for the editorial strategy Tom Lowry.
Cheng has spent more than 20 years covering the impact and the consequences of technology on our lives. He covered the rise of the mobility and smartphone of the Wall Street Journal and the Dow Jones Newswires, shaped the coverage of the tech impact on CNET, then as a editor of Cord Cutter News. From covering the launch of the original iPhone to the AI revolution today, Cheng has always sought to provide unique information and perspective to readers around the world.
“Roger is an exciting addition to our editorial leadership team and provides a vast knowledge well in the technology and commercial relationships,” said Sharon Waxman, founder of Thewrap and editor. “His knowledge will continue to expand and deepen Thewrap’s ability to serve industry professionals who see us as an essential partner to stay in advance in a changing company.”
“I am delighted to join the Wrap and I can’t wait to pass his talented journalists and publishers at the next level,” said Cheng. “Diving into the world of entertainment marks a new exciting adventure for me, but the mission remains the same: producing high quality and read stories that have an impact.”
“” I knew that Roger returns to the present day in the context of the media reporting scrum and technology in New York. It has always been great, “said the vice-president of the Lowry editorial strategy.” This is why I could not be more delighted that Roger joins our team to help pass our coverage to the next level. “”
