“The whole Warrior team should have jumped on you”

Draymond Green has expressed his strong opinion on Jordan Poole’s reaction to the Mark Williams-Jose Alvarado altercation. The Phoenix Suns center got physical with the New Orleans Pelicans backup on December 27. Both were ejected and Williams received a one-game suspension, while Alvarado was suspended for two games.
During the fight, fans pointed out Poole’s surprised face. The 6-foot-4 guard is no stranger to altercations, as he was a former teammate of Green with the Golden State Warriors. During the New Year’s Eve special “The Draymond Green Show,” the Warriors forward analyzed his former teammate’s reaction to the fight.
Thanks for the submission!
“We can’t do this,” Green said. “David West always told us that if something happens on the field, you go for it. Because you don’t know what’s going to happen.

“What if these five guys jump your only teammate and you stay there? You’re just not going to help yourself then?”
Former Suns player Eddie Johnson used Green and Poole’s altercation to illustrate his point.
“So, based on your rhetoric, the entire Warriors team should have jumped on you when you hit a young Jordan Poole? Just asking?” » Johnson posted.
While Green and Poole were teammates, a fight occurred between them during a team practice. The fight resulted in the veteran star punching his younger teammate in the face. Ultimately, he was suspended by the Warriors for his actions and his relationship with the former No. 28 pick.
In the summer of 2023, the front office traded Poole to the Washington Wizards. Draymond Green remained with the team and moved on after the incident.
Draymond Green Defends Steve Kerr’s Reaction That Led to Coach’s Expulsion
Warriors coach Steve Kerr had to be restrained by Gary Payton II, Gui Santos and Terry Stotts after the referees missed an obvious goalie call. This happened when Draymond Green dropped a pass to Payton and made a layup. The ball hit the backboard first, but officials did not call the violation.
Kerr was frustrated and called the referees to the sidelines. He received his second technical foul, which is an automatic expulsion in the NBA. After the Warriors’ 103-102 loss to the LA Clippers, Green was asked what he thought about what happened.
“It’s the right reaction, I think,” Green said.
Before the unreported goalie violation, officials ruled out Steph Curry’s shot on John Collins. This was a late call that happened after Curry’s shot. The referees considered it a shooting foul and instead called it a ground foul.
Kerr’s reaction was the culmination of frustration with the officiating, and he did not address it to the media after the competition.
