Jared Kushner and Russia Ambassador in Washington have discussed the possibility of setting up a secret and secure communications channel between Trump’s transition team and Kremlin, using Russian diplomatic facilities in an apparent decision to protect their pre-initial surveillance discussions, according to US officials informed of intelligence reports.
Ambassador Sergei Kislyak reported to his superiors to Moscow that Kushner, then the son -in -law and confidant of the president -elected Trump, made the proposal at a meeting on December 1 or 2 in Trump Tower, according to the interceptions of Russian communications which were examined by US officials. Kislyak said Kushner suggested using Russian diplomatic installations in the United States for communications.
The meeting was also followed by Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser.
