The Vision Quest television series launched a black actress as McU’s Bride of Ultron, Jocasta

Jac Schaeffer was originally to take care of Marvel television Quest for vision Television program, but went from the series to focus on Agatha from the start. Taking your place is the Terry Matalas showrunner (Star Trek: Picard), leaving the Android Avenger series in safe hands.

Paul Betany will return to Quest for vision As a title character, with James Spader taking over his Avengers: Age of Ultron Role of Ultron. Todd Stashwick and Faran Tahir, who is back IronRaza, should also appear, just like Ruaridh Mollica (widely considered as Tommy Maximoff).

Nexus no news gives a word today that Quest for vision is defined to include a version of Jocasta. The character would have been thrown away, but the identity of who will play it is currently kept under the Wraps.

The site has seen casting details, however, and it seems that Marvel Studios wanted a black actress in her forties – 60 to play a character better known in comics under the name of “The Bride of Ultron”. The fact that an older actor was wanted suggests that Jocasta will also assume this role in the MCU.

According to the casting call, “Jocasta is described as cunning, powerful, determined and motivated by revenge.” We can only speculate on what it means, although it was previously reported that Vision Quest will present these characters in “human” form.

Created by Jim Shooter and George Perez in 1977, Jocasta made his debut in the 1977 pages Avengers # 162. Built by Ultron, Jocasta’s conscience is based on the brain models of Janet Van Dyne (remember, on the page, Ultron was created and based on Hank Pym, not Tony Stark and Bruce Banner).

Jocasta was going to serve as a member of the Avengers and, in recent years, was trying to make himself more human. When she did, the character was described as a black woman, so Quest for vision does not take any freedom with the source material here.

We recently talked to Tahir about his return MCU as Raza. “I think it’s a very exciting project to come back as a character I played 17 years ago”, ” He told us. “When you play a character, you create a story to [them]. What we decided is that it was seven years after the fact that Tony Stark [died] And everything that happened. “”

“How does this character evolve, and what has become of it? Is it something more? He is not static in this universe and also continued his life, and with where he ends, how are he in this universe? It is a big challenge. There are big surprises in there, especially for Marvel fans.”

“It was sort of a meeting for us as a showrunner [Terry Matalas] Did anyone with whom I worked on a series called 12 monkeys. We had already worked together nine years ago, and there is another member of the distribution who appeared in this program which is also in it, “ The actor continued. “James Spader and I did a few episodes of the blacklist, so there was a good meeting of people who had already worked together.”

“It was nice to have the team in a different way, a framework and a reality. It was very fun. I have a more blow to do, which I will do in about a month; it will be very fun,” Tahir concluded.

Quest for vision should be presented on Disney + in 2026.
