The View wonders who Republicans are protecting in the Epstein files if not Trump

New emails from convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein were released Wednesday morning by House Oversight Democrats, in which he specifically calls out President Trump. Now, “The View” hosts are asking even more questions, including who Republicans could be protecting by not releasing more files, if not Trump.

In a statement to TheWrap Wednesday morning, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that “the ‘unnamed victim’ mentioned in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly stated that President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing and that he ‘could not have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions.” It’s something that “The View” host Alyssa Farah Griffin has also latched on to.

“That brings me to the point: What do you have to hide, Republicans? she wondered: “If it doesn’t involve Donald Trump, why don’t you say “Release everything?” » Vote for this path, every document should be published.

Sunny Hostin asked the same question, prompting hosts Ana Navarro and Sara Haines to speculate that there were major Republican donors on the list of names.

“I don’t think Donald Trump could be elected without billionaires,” Haines said. “I don’t think the billionaires behind everyone we know would fall.”

“It’s a story as old as time,” Navarro admitted. “Powerful men protect powerful men and think that having sex with a 14, 15, 16, 17 year old girl against her will is okay.”

So, Navarro issued a challenge to the congresswomen, inspired by Marjorie Taylor Greene who reportedly proposed reading the names from the list to the House.

“You know what should happen? All women in Congress should, together, read the names and read the emails,” Navarro said. “Get your act together, because they have congressional immunity.”

“The View” airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
