The veteran of the Dolphins CB leaves the first practice of the training camp on crutches

Miami Dolphins’ veteran, Artie Burns, left the team’s first training training training on crutches, according to Barry Jackson from Miami Herald.

Burns, 30, has signed with dolphins as free agent earlier this year after spending the last three seasons with Seattle Seahawks. The details of the injury he suffered on Wednesday as well as his severity is not yet known.

Dolphins can afford to lose players in the corner position after separating the starters Kendall Fuller and Jalen Ramsey during the offseason. While the team remains in active discussions with free agents, including the former starter of Buffalo Bills Rasul Douglas, the team should currently have many inexperienced young players to compete for corner snaps.

Burns, a 2016 first round choice, is one of the few players with the NFL experience. With the fourth year player, Kader Kohou, he expected to maintain his role as a corner for the use of dolphins, the outdoor departure options include Storm Duck, the second round choice of 2023 Cam Smith and the fifth round of 2025 Jason Marshall Jr.

In three seasons with the Seahawks, Burns appeared in 21 games and started one. Earlier in his career, he spent four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers where he started 32 games.
