However, giant fans obtained an unexpected window on the life of their young recruit QB on Thursday while Peter Schrager of ESPN shared a new clip of his podcast “The Schrage Hour”, in which the icon of the franchise Eli Manning recounts a surprisingly apparent demand for the choice of the first round of New York.

In the clip, Manning describes Darter Dart: “If you have any questions about anything, I’m here for you – football stuff, living in town, whatever.”

“Eli was a huge model for me, even before I arrived in Ole Miss,” Dart in Sports Illustrated after the draft. “Whenever I had a question, I could contact him and I knew he was going to be there for me. Now, with the Giants, he lives just at the bottom of the road and he was great, making sure I know that I have it in my corner … It’s a huge asset for me.”

Not only did the two shared a similar path, the two going to Ole Miss, but they also shared similar roles in their respective recruit seasons.
