Nikki Haley’s son says naturalized US citizens should not be allowed to hold public office

Nalin Haley, son of former 2024 presidential candidate and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, said naturalized citizens should not be allowed to hold public office.

“Naturalized citizens should not be able to hold public office,” Nalin Haley said in an interview with Tucker Carlson that aired Wednesday. “Growing up here is an important part of understanding the country. »

He also said dual nationality should be banned and no one should be allowed to serve in another country’s military.

“We should not allow dual nationality either,” he said. “It’s the stupidest idea. Either you’re American or you’re not.”

Carlson asked Nalin for his opinion on whether U.S. citizens should be allowed to serve in another country’s military.

“Oh God, no,” he replied. “Forget it. You can’t do this.”

When Nikki Haley ran for president in 2024, she talked a lot about the importance of Israel and the need to ensure that the United States still supports the country.

However, Nalin took a different approach than her mother.

“Israel is just another country, and if they want to have better relations with the United States, they need to stop interfering in our politics,” he said in a previous interview with UnHerd.

He also spoke out against the H-1B visa program.

“We need to put an end to the myth that all these H1B visa holders are starting businesses and creating industries,” he wrote on X last month. “There are over 700,000 H1B holders and the vast majority are in very average jobs, like low-cost tech jobs, that could go to Americans, without starting or growing industries.”
