In March 2021, Milwaukie’s businessman Jimmy Alan Pearson was found shot in his house by the river. Pearson, 63, was known in the Portland region as owner of the A-1 Hawk Pawn Shop. His murder sparked a multi-state suspect research, Nistasha Rose Tate, 23, whose case is now the subject of a future episode of Broken.

On March 1, 2021, the monitoring images of the Pearson home security system showed Nistasha Tate arriving at Pearson shortly after midnight, with an empty Duffel bag.
