Created by Naomi Sheldon and Gabbie Asher, The girlfriend Season 1 is a psychological thriller which was presented exclusively on Prime Video on September 10, 2025. The show is based on the book of the same name of Michelle Frances and revolves around Laura, a rich woman with an apparently perfect life. She runs a successful art gallery, but everything is broken when her son brings her new girlfriend home to house, Cherry.
During the six -hour episodes, Laura becomes convinced that her son Daniel is going out with a manipulative social climber. His suspicions grow and grow, which makes his actions slowly out of control, Cherry playing his own role in the procedures. The girlfriend Season 1 follows Laura Sanderson, a rich owner of the art gallery, with an apparently perfect life, but things are starting to crash when his son Daniel, brings his new girlfriend to the house, Cherry. Laura becomes convinced that the new girlfriend manipulates her son and is there to hurt her. She soon begins to discover disturbing inconsistencies in the history of Cherry while her initial suspicions on her son’s new partner are strengthening.
Laura soon begins to deepen the past of Cherry and extinguishes a connections wire, including a previous relationship which ended with a prohibition order. This convinces Laura that Cherry went out to get her son, and she is starting to go to extreme lengths to separate them.
This includes the hacking of his social media to make Cherry turn and even tell him that Daniel died in an accident to separate them. Things end up building to a shocking highlight like The girlfriend Season 1 ends with dramatic confrontations between Laura and Cherry, which blur the boundaries between paranoia and concern.
