The teaser of Christopher Nolan’s the Odyssey flees online: First images

The first teaser for Christopher Nolan and “The Odyssey” by Universal, who plays exclusively in theaters, disclosed online on X and Tiktok.
Like many previous blockbusters from Nolan, more recently for the winner of the best film “Oppenheimer” in 2023, the famous director published a short theatrical teaser more than a year in advance to build media threw in what is one of the most expected films. Teaser leaks began to appear on Tuesday afternoon, many of which being removed quickly. This is not the first time that a big film or a show has been hit by a leak – just watch “Spider -Man: No Way Way”, “House of the Dragon” and the last season of “Game of Thrones”. Variety contacted Universal to comment.
The teaser, which lasts 70 seconds, briefly shows the main character of Matt Damon, Ulysses, his son Telemachus (played by Tom Holland) and a mystery character played by Jon Bernthal. It starts with a narration with what looks like Robert Pattinson, who plays an unknown character.
“The darkness. The laws of Zeus broke into pieces. A kingdom without king since the death of my master,” he said in photos of a dark blue ocean and waves crashing along the sandy shore. “He knew it was a little winning war, then in one way or another … He won him.” There are two plans of what seems to be the famous Trojan horse – the master plan of Ulysses to sneak the Greek soldiers in Troy, massacre the soldiers and dismiss the city to win the war. The shadow of the wooden horse is extended through the beach, then the horse itself is seen at a distance half overwhelmed in the water while the waves take place. In the Greek epic, the trip from Odysses to the house takes ten years after its ship is destroyed and that it meets monsters like the cyclops, is retained captive by the Calipso nymphist, and makes Greek routes.
The teaser then cuts a tense conversation between Telemachus and the character of Bernthal, where the latter explains that he does not know where Ulysses is.
“I don’t know anything Ulysses, not from Troy,” says Bernthal while a dark storm rolls on the water.
“I have to discover what happened to my father. When did you see it for the last time? ” Dutch answers. He and Bernthal are side by side with other characters sitting next to them in the background, lit by low orange flames.
“Interested in rumor, huh?” Gossip. Who has a story about Ulysses, huh? Bernthal begins to shout to others near them. “YOU? Do you have a story? ” There is a photo of Greek soldiers dressed in armor and carrying torches walking in a street in the city at night. The white words “One Year” appear on the black screen, teasing the release date of the film on July 17, 2026.
“Some say that he is rich or that some say that he is poor,” he continues while a distant plan shows a Greek soldier who crosses a cave entrance and does not undress his sword. “A trip begins” is shown on the screen.
“Some say he perished. Some say he is imprisoned. What do you say? ” Bernthal asks for a stroke of men walking towards a city at night while waves of tatters in tatters.
“Imprisoned?” Asks the telemachuse.
“What kind of prison? Well, old man like that, ”says Bernthal. There are a few other dark waves, then it is revealed that Ulysse is blocked in the middle of the ocean on wooden remains. “The Odyssey” and “17. 07. 26” Flash on the screen, ending the teaser.
Like “Oppenheimer”, the cast of “The Odyssey” is sprawling and starred. It also includes Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Cosmo Jarvis and more. The film is currently in production and will be the first large -scale production to be filmed entirely with the IMAX cameras.
