The witnesses constantly describe a creature of about 3 feet (1 meter) in height, covered with very black hair or dark gray fur, with a monkey like the face and powerful arms. It is said that the Orang Pendek walks with an immense strength from the upper body, moving two as a small gorilla.
His thick fingers, the almost vestigian thumb, and the round palm suggest a creature both in the shape of a gorilla and distinctly other.
The reported behaviors include the ability to uproot small trees, break the rattan vines and even rotting balls. The shoulder blades, the massive shoulders and the legs appear built for strength and agility on damaged terrain.
