The Switch 2 edition of Stardew Valley is seeing items disappear due to a manufacturing issue, and ConcernedApe is delaying the European release until it fixes it, with a hotfix “coming soon.”

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Stardew Valley released unexpectedly over the holidays, and the game’s creator is urging players to avoid creating certain recipes for the time being.
After the announcement of its Switch 2 edition in September and after radio silence sinceStardew Valley Nintendo Switch 2 Edition was released unexpectedly on Christmas Day, allowing players to experience the realistic graphics and ridiculous frame rates that the Switch 2 can offer… or rather, it added mouse controls and 4-player split-screen.
If you are currently playing on the NS2 version, be aware that creating any of the recipes below may result in consuming unexpected items in your inventory. If you need to craft them, empty your inventory of everything except the required ingredients and don’t use the workbench pic.twitter.com/X6zsLePj5SDecember 30, 2025
It warns players of a list of recipes that can cause this bug and advises if you really need to create one, to empty your inventory and not use a workbench, otherwise you risk losing some items on you, even if they are not used for the recipe. “Apparently the problem also comes from NS1,” he adds. “This will also be fixed.”
Barone doesn’t give an exact timeline as to when these fixes will be implemented aside from “coming soon”, so it’s unclear how long it will be before European players have a chance to experience mouse controls (apart from those on PC, obviously), but we hope it shouldn’t be too long.
Stardew Valley’s 1.7 update could be as big as the farming sim’s last, as ConcernedApe hints there’s “much more” to come.
