Rumors have circulated for years that McDonald’s partially funded the film, but it is not quite true. One of the main investors was Golden State Foods, one of McDonald’s food distributors, but McDonald’s itself has not invested in “Mac and Me”.

Stewart Raffill, the director, had previously made elegant and exciting comedies, action photos and science fiction films. He made a “high risk”, “the experience of Philadelphia” and “The Ice Pirates”. / Film once interviewed Raffill, and it turns out that RJ Louis hired him before there was a script. In Raffill’s words:
